The Lake Remote Sensing Team is a multidisciplinary research group dedicated to the study and the monitoring of aquatic environments through the use of remote sensing. The team has a long history exploring the interaction of electromagnetic radiation and the environment, developing innovative algorithms which have improved our understanding of lake and catchment dynamics. The team is participating in major national and international programs and has collaborations throughout the world. Research results are being used by provincial and national governments for lake and aquatic ecosystem management and have been published in major scientific journals.
The Lake Remote Sensing Team most recent research areas include:
1. Water color and water quality monitoring;
2. Lake ecology studies;
3. Lakes - catchment interactions;
4. Global change impacts on lake ecology and dynamics.
